From October 1 onwards Google will shut down its Back up and Sync app and users will no longer be able to sign in to that platform. Then from August 18 onwards users still on the Backup and Sync app will start receiving an in-app notification guiding them to transition to the new Drive app. Starting on July 19, Google will begin transitioning its users to the new Drive for desktop app. Now, the Alphabet subsidiary is going full circle and again releasing a new Drive app for Windows and macOS.

For reference back in 2017, Google split off its desktop Drive app in favor of Backup and Sync for individuals and Drive for desktop which was strictly for business users. Kindly advise what can I do to get my phone to sync again.Google announced its unified Drive for desktop app which will replace the Sync and Backup for individuals. And stock email app is able to access my gmail account. Here I would also like to mention that internet on my phone is working fine. I even tried changing my google account password on my computer but still cant log in on my phone. Today I also did a factory reset on my phone and erased all contents but I was still unable to sign in. I got the following error message'Couldn't sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.This could be a temporary problem or your device may not be provisioned for data services. I removed my google account from settings and tried adding it back but was unable to do so. Now I am not getting mew mails on gmail app, I can't connect to play store, can't sign in to youtube ,can't see my google cards, hangout and google calender not working. My phone has stopped syncing to my google account. I am having a strange issue on my Nexus 5 for the last 5 days.
